I’m stressed the fuck out.
Anonymous asked: I so understand you. My parents are pushing me into being in the medical field but the funniest thing is I hate the sight of blood. They make me feel like shit for what I want to do which is art... Sorry I poured this out to you but I literally just got in a fight with them about this..
It honestly isn’t a problem at all. The medical field is awesome, don’t get me wrong. You save lives and help those who are in need, but is it for everyone? No. I understand where you are coming from and many of us know how you feel. Just do what makes you happy honestly.
I’m telling to whoever is reading this right now. Do what you want to do with your life and make sure you become successful at it. We are all pressured into choosing what the rest of the world wants you to do instead of what you strongly yearn to do.
My parents have constantly disagreed with most of my decisions. I mention this and both quickly respond no. I mention that and they believe it’s not the right road for me to take. My father expects me to be a man, but he is holding me back from trying to be one. Just like how everybody else is holding you back on what you want to do.
I decided to become a barber because I love the art. My parents hated the idea because they believe it is frowned upon to work in that field. They said I would make no money and I would not find happiness working on men’s hair all day. You know what? On my days off, I actually visit work because I love it so much. I just turned 17 and I am paying for my own new car and insurance. I am also paying for my trip to Europe with my class which costs more than the car. (Monthly payments reach from $700-$800). I hustled and worked hard for every dollar I earn so I can prove to everybody that I can be successful. Being a barber is not what I want to do in life, but it is certainly a strong career just like doctors, nurses, and lawyers. As long as you strive hard, you will get there.
So don’t be afraid and just do it. Live a little. Experience failure and learn from it. That is how you and your goals grow to reach success.
